Lead Pastors Jay & Lynn Rhodes

Jay and Lynn have served in the pastorate for over 17 years and have a heart to serve the Lord. Jay is a passionate preacher who has the ability to reach across generational lines to bring the gospel to every person. He has served in leadership in both business and ministry. Lynn is an annointed singer and speaker. She has a unique and powerful way of sharing the gospel. Jay and Lynn are the proud parents of three children Ashley, Chay, Alivia, and a son-in-law Frank.

Students Pastors JW & Amanda Church

JW and Amanda are the pastors of student ministries here at South Decatur and have been for the past 5 years. Their ministry has grown by leaps and bounds in the past five years as they have shared their heart for the students of Decatur. They now have one of the leading youth groups in our area and are growing almost on a weekly basis. JW has a masters degree in business, which he uses here at the church. Amanda has a degree in Missions which she also uses here at the church. They are the proud parents of Timothy & Asher.

Minister of Music  Jim Wallace                

Jim has served as the Minister of Music for the past 8 years. He has a passion for worship and has built one of the largest choirs in our area. Jim believes that every service should allow people the opportunity to worship the Lord and he does a great job at making sure that everyone can become involved in praising the Lord. He oversees all aspects of the music ministry from choir, band, to holiday productions and does a great job. He is assisted by his wife Ann in all he does.  

 Church Administrator  Kathy Chapman

Kathy is the backbone of South Decatur. She keeps the ship running smoothly. Kathy is in charge of all budgets and finanical items here at the church. She had served in this position for the past 8 years and during her service the church has seen great growth finanically. She also serves in the choir and in other areas of the church. She feels that what she does is a ministry to the Lord and we could not do what we do without her and her husband Travis.  

  Kid's Church Chad & Brooke Bevis       

Chad and Brooke are the Kid's church team leaders. They have a passion for reaching children with the gospel in an exciting and fun way. They have two of their own kids in Kid's church and work hard to making sure that all of the children of South Decatur have a great time at the Treehouse. They have been here at the church for several years and as well as serving as our Kid's Church Team leader Chad also serves as a Council man. They have a love for South Decatur and are just two of the reasons that God is blessing our church so much

Outreach Dir. Travis & Leslie Chapman

Travis (Tab) and Leslie do a great job in the outreach ministry of South Decatur. They are in charge of feeding programs, holiday helps, back to school supplies, and our church sport ministry. They have a heart to help those less fortunate and they do a great job. They also work in our Student's ministry and are both members of the South Decatur Choir. They are hard workers and do a great job at everything that they do.

 Drama Team Leader  Shelly Pinion

Shelly has a great passion for the drama ministry and does a great job at bringing it into the church. Working with adult and student Shelly is able to get the most out of each one and bring the gospel to people through Drama. Shelly also serves in the choir and is a soloist in the Music Department. She is also a teacher in our Wednesday kids programs and is in charge of the bulletin that goes out every week. She is a hard worker and loves serving in the church with her husband David. Thye have two sons Joshua and Jeremy.

Greg and Denise Chavers

Greg and Denise have been a part of South Decatur for many years. They both have a passion for Christian Education. Dr. Greg Chavers is in charge of making sure that all of our classes have what they need, and that we have the best teachers teaching each and every class. Denise has an engineering degree and she has used ingenuity in kids church over the years. She has taken on a new ministry as of late, working with the student ministries. This couple does a great job at making sure that South Decatur is being discipled.
